Serva - Automated PXE Server

Postby EagleTech » Wed Apr 10, 2013 2:01 pm

Didn't know if this would be handy to anyone, we have found it extremely useful. It is small, powerful, & PORTABLE. I love the fact that I can be doing onsite work & run it from a laptop I connect to the local network. In the shop it has mostly replaced booting from optical/flash.

Serva

Serva is an Automated PXE Server Solution Accelerator
based on an all-in-one portable multi-server engine

HTTP server
FTP server
TFTP server
TFTP client
DHCP server
proxyDHCP server 1
BINL server 2
DNS server
SNTP server
SYSLOG server

1- PXE DHCP service that does not require altering your current DHCP server.
2- Microsoft WAIK/ADK independent RIS and WDS alternative.

The support version is worth it for the extra features alone. The developer is very responsive. (Like someone else we all know? LOL)

While networks vary (as well as mileage), on our gigabit network PXE is far faster. Installs over PXE are great. Hiren's can be configured, as well as many other tools. http://www.vercot.com/~serva/an/NonWindowsPXE3.html
