network issues

A residential client of mine is having an issue. Brand new modem/router, all new cat 5e cables, and coax cables inside the house. For some reason however at least once a day, the internet goes down for about 15 seconds. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions. My thought is the cable company doesnt' have it configured properly, or the router part is bad in the modem. Cable company gives the excuse "It's your equipment" because the client owns it, and its not rented from the cable company.

I don't want to tell the client is't the modem until I'm absolutely sure the cable company is not to blame.

It is better to check the configuration setting because based on your setting only the connectivity works.
