PDF Reports

Postby Tekmate » Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:30 am

Hi Nick,

We have an issue in that Repair Shopr has disabled .html file attachments (for understandable security issues and to stop code injections.)

This means the main info report (and other html) is no longer attachable to the customers ticket for us.

I see a few options to remedy with (a) being preferred.
a) create pdf's reports. (This would have the added benefit of not emailing a seperate logo file.
b) Zip - This might be easiest to achieve as everything is in place but it would be harder to use on the ticket end as we would need to download extract and open.
c) Plain text - yuk.

Quick check for open source ...
FABS Autobackup PRO is using SumatraPDF to do the same job (5mb )
MUPDF - https://softwarerecs.stackexchange.com/questions/19081/is-there-a-free-pdf-to-html-conversion-software (35mb file ?)

Is this at all feasible ?

I think I can create simple PDF documents without 3rd party apps, though it will need some fonts to be downloaded, no biggie.

The issue is that the HTML still needs to exist, would this be ok if I were able to add the PDF but both that and the HTML are sent in the email?

Thanks Nick, the problem then is that Repairshopr still pulls them in so we have to delete each file which is a 2 click action for every attachment and ticket.
I think we only really need the info report on the tickets.

This probably doesn't help but it can doc, pdf, txt - anything but html it seems.

We are using d7x more and more in the workshop as the tech's are being trained to run on every machine we see in the workshop. Any thing you can do would be great.

I put system info report as PDF in the latest version just released.

but wait, even with the PDF you need, are you saying you would still have to delete the html attachments that are already there?
