d7ii Email setup using an Office365 account ?

Postby bertie40 » Mon Dec 01, 2014 10:56 am

Hi.
I've tried a number of times to get this to behave, but i'm getting nowhere.

Previously, I used to route emails via gmail (as performed originally with d7), but I'm trying to use my office365 settings, now that TLS is supported.

I've attached a screenie, can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong ?

Username and email address are the same.

Incidentally, I've input the password VERY carefully, so it aint that. :)

Regards.

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that Authenticate needs to be ticked, but it's greyed out...

Are you using Office365 for Business?

Just watched a DMZ video and it says it should be greyed out, but D7II downloads some files and it should try to authenticate...

Your settings look OK so probably one for Nick.

Just a thought.

try using the smtp server that is your primary MX record in the DNS.

should look like

my-domain-com.mail.protection.outlook.com

correct, auth would be grayed out on that setting. the new mail dll tries to negotiate authentication automatically with the server using SSL/TLS option selected, then tries again without if that fails.

I've seen a few interesting articles in a google that leads me to suspect there are some other settings necessary for some users of 365. Try these from another post I found:

destination: username@domain.com
smtp.office365.com
port 587
StartTLS

Requires authentication: yes
username@domain.onmicrosoft.com
password

Still no joy.

Is it possible to get hold of that "required" dll and download / install it manually ?

Regards.
