CP Premium and Issue with Blizzard Battle Net Launcher

Postby cathalo » Sat May 02, 2015 6:37 pm

Hi Nick,

I recently brought my desktop up from the living and am doing clean installs on it now. It is Win7 Pro.

I am unable to get the Blizzard Battle.net Launcher to run ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net\Battle.net Launcher.exe") unless I disable protection. I do not have any blocked alerts or anything. It works without a hitch on my Windows 8.1 Pro laptop.

Any suggestions on where to start debugging?

To further this, I've made it to the last option of Maximum Protection + Program Filtering (BETA) before it stopped working.

I white listed the applications folder (all executable files), along with the game itself. No change.

If I right-clicked the launcher and ran as Administrator - it would load and prompt me for the email address and password. I didn't continue, but I really shouldn't need to do this - as I am on an administrator account.

I disabled .COM and .EXE filter and sure enough it worked.

I've removed the white list and still it continues to work.

I would be interested in troubleshooting further so that the filter can be applied.

Regards,
Chris
